Drab6 Fishing Charters - SALMON

   The King Salmon is one of the most sought after trophies from September through November. This is when Salmon will move into the river in an attempt to spawn. Salmon fishing charters focus on the incredible Lower Niagara River.This is the fishing trip that Captain Steve Drabczyk specializes in, drift fishing.    The state record fish is 47lbs 15oz, while 20lb fish are more common. The Coho Salmon, cousin of the Chinook normally does not get as big as the King.  However the world record catch of 33 lb. 7 oz. did come  from Lake Ontario.  These fish follow the Kings up the river to spawn, along with the Steelhead (Rainbow Trout).
       Devil's Hole, 2 mile north of Niagara Falls, is the hotspot for the King Salmon. Steelhead, Brown Trout are not out of the question either. A mixed bag of these species on these fishing charters are common place, especially in November.
